Enrichment

Enriching Your Experience

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church brings creative experiences to your journey, through music, lectures, tours, quiet days, and a spirited brunch.

Music Programs

Throughout the year, we have special musical programs to celebrate or commemorate notable events. Recent offerings have included an Evensong of Thanksgiving for the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, a Blues Evensong to celebrate Mardi Gras, and a summer Chamber Music Concert to mark the Feast of the Transfiguration.

Evening Lecture Series

St. Stephen’s sponsors a monthly lecture series with a focus on the arts, including architecture, music and visual art. Admission is free, with donations appreciated. A light reception is held after each program.

Stay tuned for updates.

Historic Charleston Foundation Tours

St. Stephens is included in the annual springtime Historic Charleston Foundation Festival of Houses and Gardens, as part of the Anson Street tour.  For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit Historic Charleston Foundation.

Advent and Lenten Quiet Days

Our Rector or other clergy offer half-day retreats held in the church, typically during Advent and Lent.  Quiet Days offer a series of reflections on a theme from Holy Scripture or on a theme appropriate to these sacred seasons on our church calendar, interspersed with long periods of quiet for prayer and meditation. These retreats end with a simple meal and time for fellowship and reflection

Spirited Brunch

St. Stephen’s participates in the annual culinary-themed tour of Charleston’s prayerful spaces. Parishioners serve a traditional Charleston appetizer, tea, and lemonade to visitors in our beautiful garden.
