Service Participants

Service Participants

St. Stephen’s has many ways for parishioners to take part in the worship service. If you are interested in becoming a service participant, please send us a note and we’ll be in touch.

Flower Guild

The Flower Guild beautifies the altar each week with creative flower arrangements. At Christmas and Easter, the Flower Guild decorates the entire church. For more information, please contact Myra Burrus at john_burrus@msn.com.

Ushers

Ushers assist congregants in finding seats and escorting them to the altar for communion. They also participate in the collection of offerings. For more information, contact Amanda Rucker at arucker@ststephenschs.com.

Acolytes

Acolytes carry the cross and gospel book in the processional. For more information, please contact Michael Shewan at mshewan@ststephenschs.com.

Eucharistic Ministers

The Holy Eucharist is our principal act of worship as Episcopalians. Eucharistic Ministers are lay members authorized to administer the sacraments during communion. Eucharistic Visitors are members who administer the sacraments to people who are unable to attend church. For more information, please contact Michael Shewan at mshewan@ststephenschs.com.

Lectors and Intercessors

The Lectors read the lessons and psalms and the Intercessors recite the Prayers of the People at each service. For more information, please contact Amanda Rucker at arucker@ststephenschs.com.

Choir

The Choir is an integral part of the 11 am service. Additionally, the choir sings during special services such as Evensong and Vespers. For more information, please contact Wayne Helmly at whelmly@ststephenschs.com.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild prepares the altar for the worship services. The guild also maintains the vestments, linens, and vessels. For more information, please contact Tommy Robinson at tgr@knology.net.
